Pope Leo XIV arrived in Lebanon on Monday, concluding his first pastoral tour of the Middle East, the Vatican reported. The plane carrying the Pope landed at 15:34 local time at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency citing Vatican News. The flight arrived from Istanbul. According to the Vatican, the pontiff dedicated the afternoon to institutional meetings, including a speech to the authorities. The pilgrimage will conclude on Tuesday, December 2, Vatican sources added.
"The Pope dedicated his day to meetings with authorities and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue in the region," the official statement reads.
