President of Lebanon Michel Aoun stated that the President of France Emmanuel Macron discussed with him the necessity of supporting a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel. In Aoun's statement, it is specified that Macron expressed concern about a possible violation of the ceasefire conditions by Israel.

In its statement, the Lebanese army accused Israel of delaying the process of withdrawing its troops from southern Lebanon in accordance with the ceasefire conditions, which formally ended the war with Hezbollah. This occurred a day after Israel's statement that its troops would remain in place after the expiration of the ceasefire deadline on Sunday.

"Israel does not fully comply with the ceasefire conditions, as its troops will remain in southern Lebanon," the Lebanese army statement says. "We call on the responsible parties to take all measures to ensure compliance with the ceasefire agreement."

In response to this, France informed Beirut about the contacts being held to support the ceasefire.
