The head of media for Hezbollah, Mohammad Afif, declared today that both the army and the resistance are defending Lebanon and the Lebanese, each in their own way and with their own capabilities. Since September 23, the Israeli army has increased its airstrikes against Lebanon in an escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah.
In statements during a press conference in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Afif mentioned that despite 45 days of intense fighting, Israel has not yet managed to occupy any village in southern Lebanon. He emphasized that as long as Israeli forces are unable to advance on the ground and gain real control, they will not achieve their political objectives nor will they allow people from the north to return to their homes.
Afif denied Israeli claims that Hezbollah's missile arsenal has been significantly reduced, stating that the resistance has enough weaponry, equipment, and supplies at the front lines for a prolonged war. In response to alleged advances in diplomatic efforts to negotiate a ceasefire in Lebanon, Afif affirmed that Hezbollah has not received any official proposal regarding this.
The media leader of Hezbollah emphasized the strong relationship between the group and the Lebanese National Army, indicating that this relationship has been solid and will continue to be so. According to Afif, the main reason behind any discussion of a ceasefire lies in the battlefield and the resistance demonstrated by the group.
Amid the escalation of tensions in the region, Afif's statements underscore Hezbollah's stance in the conflict with Israel and its commitment to the defense of Lebanon and its people.
