Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said: "After demarcating the sea, we can now seriously work on developing bilateral agreements to facilitate and develop the work of exploration companies between our two countries, and work on launching joint projects in the fields of energy, especially renewable energy, communications and their transmission lines, tourism and its programs, and also in the field of security and defense, with the 'Search and Rescue Center' project, jointly implemented by the defense ministries of our two countries." The Lebanese presidency announced on Wednesday the signing of a maritime border demarcation agreement between Lebanon and Cyprus, paving the way for potential future energy exploration in the sea. Addressing the Cypriot president, he said: "We look forward to the start of your presidency of the European Union".
