Lebanon Added to FATF Grey List

According to the words of two sources from the financial sector, Lebanon was included in the gray list of countries subject to special scrutiny by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The review confirmed serious violations in the area of combating money laundering and financing terrorism. As noted, the removal of the country from the serious list will take a prolonged time.

"Lebanon stands on the brink of economic collapse, and its inclusion in the FATF list will only exacerbate the crisis," one of the sources indicated.

In response to this, the Ministry of Finance of Lebanon stated that the government is taking all necessary actions to improve the situation and fulfill international standards in combating money laundering and financing terrorism.
