Israel Intercepts Hezbollah Drone Amid Tensions

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have officially declared that they will take strong measures to neutralize any terrorist activities by Hezbollah in Lebanon. An Israeli airstrike against a Hezbollah vehicle in southern Lebanon was confirmed, which the IDF stated was being used by the terrorist group to "rebuild its terrorist infrastructure."

"Terrorist activities by Hezbollah will not be permitted in Lebanon," stated the Israeli military spokesperson. This airstrike took place on Wednesday and is considered a violation of the agreements established between Israel and Lebanon. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, which had expired last Sunday, has been extended until February 18, when it is expected that Israeli forces will completely withdraw from the country.

The original pact included the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon and the redeployment of Hezbollah north of the Litani River, approximately 30 kilometers north of the Israeli border. However, the Jerusalem Government warned that it would not be able to complete the withdrawal on time since the Lebanese Army has yet to assume control of the designated areas.

Furthermore, the IDF announced the interception of a surveillance drone belonging to Hezbollah that was heading towards Israeli airspace. This incident confirms Israel's determination to prevent any incursion attempts by the Lebanese Shiite terrorist group into its territory.
