Aboul Gheit Denounces Israeli Delay in Lebanon Withdrawal

Ahmed Abul Gate, the secretary-general of the League of Arab States, expressed discontent with the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and its delays in a complete withdrawal from Southern Lebanon, as previously agreed under the ceasefire agreement, the term of which was extended to February 18.

In a statement released today, Abul Gate insisted that the Israeli withdrawal should be complete and executed within the timeframe as agreed, indicating that any manipulations in this matter mean violations of the agreement.

Abul Gate emphasized that the guaranteeing parties of the agreements should necessarily provide sufficient pressure on the Israeli occupation to fulfill their obligations.

He expressed full solidarity with the clear and resolute position of Lebanon regarding the refusal of Israel to remain on any positions after the completion of the withdrawal or extension of the withdrawal under unacceptable conditions.
