UN Condemns Israeli Strike on Refugee Camp in Lebanon

The UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, Maurice Tidbal-Binz, condemned the recent Israeli attack on the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of 14 people, including 12 children. He described the attack as a war crime and a blatant violation of the UN Charter and Security Council resolution 1701. In an official statement released on Friday evening, Tidbal-Binz stated that the strike on the camp, carried out by drones on November 18 according to UN reports, was the deadliest since the ceasefire came into force in November 2024. He also cast doubt on Israeli claims that the target was a 'Hamas training complex,' providing no evidence to support this assertion.
