Lebanon imposes visas on Iranians, bans IRGC activities

The Lebanese government has decided to require Iranian citizens to obtain entry visas to Lebanon, after they were previously exempt based on the principle of reciprocity. It also decided to ban any activity by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in the country, check for the presence of its affiliated elements, and arrest them and refer them to the specialized judiciary for subsequent deportation. Lebanese Information Minister Paul Markess said during the reading of the cabinet session resolutions that the government had instructed to check for the presence of elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in the country and to intervene firmly and immediately to prevent any activity or security or military operation they might carry out from Lebanese territory.
