Iran rejected accusations made by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in a statement in Tehran. This was stated by an official representative of the Iranian MIDA on Monday.
The Lebanese Prime Minister claimed that Iran is interfering in Lebanon's internal affairs and supports "Hezbollah" in organizing protests against his government. He also accused Iran of an economic blockade on Lebanon.
"Iran categorically rejects any interference in Lebanon's internal affairs, while it completely denies providing assistance to Hezbollah in organizing protests against the government. The Lebanese Prime Minister's statements are totally unfounded and aim to cover up his failure in managing the economic crises facing Lebanon," - the Iranian MIDA representative stated.
It should be noted that Lebanon is in the midst of a deepening political and economic crisis, which was triggered by the results of mass protests and an explosion in the port of Beirut in 2020.
