Israel Targets Hezbollah Finances Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Israeli army carried out an attack against a Hezbollah bunker in Lebanon that contained tens of millions of dollars. This attack is part of an offensive directed at the financial interests of the Lebanese Islamist group. One of the "main objectives" of the Israeli precision airstrikes was an underground armored chamber that housed large sums of cash and gold, intended to finance Hezbollah's attacks against Israel.

According to military spokesman Daniel Hagari, these funds were used to finance Hezbollah's operations against Israel. Furthermore, Hagari reported the death of the commander of the Hezbollah unit responsible for transferring weapons from Iran during an airstrike in Damascus. Although he did not disclose the name of the commander or provide more details, it was mentioned that he had recently assumed the position after the assassination of his predecessor in another Israeli attack in Beirut.

According to an anonymous military source cited by the official Syrian news agency SANA, at least two people were killed and three others wounded in a guided missile attack in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, one of the deceased was not a Syrian citizen. The escalation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israeli forces has been evident since Tyre, in southern Lebanon.

The Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus, where embassies and residences of the Revolutionary Guard, leaders of Palestinian factions, and senior Hezbollah officials are located, has been a target of Israeli attacks in recent weeks. The war in Lebanon has claimed the lives of more than 2,400 people in that country, mainly since the outbreak of conflict in late September.
