Hezbollah Launches Air Attacks on Northern Israel

Hezbollah has reported launching air attacks on northern Israel using suicide drones and missiles, resulting in significant military engagements and casualties on both sides.

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah announced the launch of aerial attacks with squads of suicide drones and missiles against the city of Safed and other areas in northern Israel. The attacked targets included the Ramat David airbase, the Filon base of the air force, the city of Karmiel, as well as the kibbutzim of Al-Manara and Kfar Giladi, and the rural community of Shomera.

According to Lebanese military sources, the destruction of five Israeli Merkava tanks was reported, one near the Lebanese village of Houla, three on the outskirts of Adaisseh, and another near the kibbutz Misgav Am in Israel. It was also reported that drones were launched and around 150 ground-to-ground missiles fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel.

In addition, it was detailed that Israeli drones and fighter jets conducted 43 airstrikes against towns and localities in southern Lebanon, as well as six in the eastern part of the country. Israeli artillery also bombarded twelve border localities in southern Lebanon. For its part, Israeli fighter jets carried out eight attacks on various areas of the southern suburbs of Beirut.

The Lebanese Council of Ministers shared a report on Friday indicating that the number of deaths in the country due to Israeli attacks since the start of the war on October 8, 2023, has risen to 2,634 people, while the injured are counted at 12,252.
