Israel Destroys Hezbollah Rocket Launch Platforms

The Israeli army reported on Saturday that it destroyed around 130 rocket launch platforms belonging to Hezbollah in Lebanon, some of which had been used by the group to attack Israel. Among them was the platform that fired at the town of Majd al Krum, in northern Israel, where a man and a woman lost their lives due to the attack.

Additionally, forces in southern Lebanon seized four trucks loaded with up to 160 rockets during the week, the army reported. For approximately a month, Israel has been heavily bombing southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut, following a year of clashes with Hezbollah, an ally of Iran. These attacks have resulted in over a thousand deaths, thousands displaced, and have weakened the militia's leadership.

In another incident, at least nine people were injured, three of them critically, after about thirty rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel, according to Israeli emergency services on Friday. Paramedics are struggling to save the lives of the injured, including an 80-year-old man in serious condition and others in mild or moderate condition.

Israeli forces detected the launch of approximately 30 projectiles within minutes from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted. They also reported that they had bombed "command centers" and weapons depots in the southern suburbs of Beirut, an area under Hezbollah control known as Dahye, which has been a frequent target of Israeli attacks in recent weeks.

It is estimated that more than 2500 people have died in the conflict between Israel and the Shiite group in Lebanon, mostly during the last month of military escalation. Since the beginning of the clashes on the border in October, at least 52 people in Israel (half civilians) and more than 700 in Lebanon have lost their lives. Following the ground offensive by Israel in southern Lebanon in early October, at least 34 Israeli soldiers have died near the border, in addition to four civilians in Israeli territory.
