Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Optimistic About Ceasefire

The speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, stated yesterday, on Saturday, that the chances of reaching an agreement on the cessation of hostilities exceed expectations. "We are on the right track to achieving the ceasefire agreement," he said. "Our hopes are higher than what we expected."

Berri discussed the consultations he held with his political allies regarding the involvement of "important figures" to stop military actions at Lebanon's borders. "No one is interested in conflicts between Lebanon and Israel, and we have always strived for a diplomatic solution," he noted.

"We continue to work in this direction. I am very optimistic," added the head of the parliament.
