Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned on Saturday the airstrike that killed Al-Manar correspondent Ali Shaib and Al-Mayadeen correspondent Fatima Founouni in southern Lebanon, describing it as a "heinous crime". Aoun said in a statement: "Once again, the Israeli army violates the most basic rules of international law, international humanitarian law, and the laws of war by targeting journalists who are ultimately civilians performing a professional duty." He added that it is a "heinous crime that violates all conventions and treaties that grant journalists international protection during wars." A military source told AFP that the strike also killed Founouni's brother, who was a cameraman.
