Three journalists covering the Israeli offensive in Lebanon were killed in a supposed bombing by the Israeli Army against their residence in the Lebanese city of Hasbaya, in the south of the country. The National News Agency of Lebanon reported that three journalists died in a bombing targeted at their residence in Hasbaya. For its part, Al Jazeera stated that around 4:00 AM, a bombing from planes or drones struck the residence housing journalists in Hasbaya, killing two cameramen and a technician.
A reporter from the Qatari media stated that the deceased "are people I have worked with almost every day," without naming the media outlets they reported for. "This is a very serious incident. Israel gave no warning and Hasbaya is not under evacuation orders," he added. The attack, which has not been acknowledged by the Israeli Army, occurred after another attack on Wednesday against the facilities in Beirut of the television network Al Mayadeen, close to Hezbollah, leaving one dead and five injured.
Hostilities between the Israeli Army and Hezbollah began last year. Since then, more than 2,500 Lebanese have been killed, according to Israel. On the Israeli side, about 60 people have died, 28 of whom were civilians. The Lebanese government described the killing of the journalists as a "war crime" and accused Israel of killing them "premeditatively." The victims were identified as workers from the Lebanese television channels Al Mayadeen and Al Manar. The attacked residence hosted another 18 journalists from seven Lebanese and Arab media outlets.
