Israeli Strike Destroys Last Bridge in Southern Lebanon

An Israeli airstrike on Thursday destroyed a major bridge in southern Lebanon, the last one connecting the area south of the Litani River with the north, Lebanon's official National News Agency reported. The agency stated: 'Warplanes carried out two consecutive strikes targeting the Qasmieh bridge, the last remaining route linking the city of Tyre with Sidon, resulting in its complete destruction.' A senior Lebanese security official told Reuters that an Israeli strike hit the last bridge connecting southern Lebanon with the rest of the country. The official added that the airstrike obliterated the bridge, leaving no possibility for repair. Since March 2, the Israeli army has sequentially destroyed four major bridges over the Litani River, which divides southern Lebanon into two parts. Additionally, the Lebanese agency reported that an Israeli strike targeted the Rahbat neighborhood in the city of Nabatiyah in southern Lebanon. It also mentioned three injuries from an Israeli drone strike on an orchard in the Wasita area in the south.
