Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Minister of the Interior and Municipalities Ahmad al-Hajjar discussed the current security situation. Yesterday, Wednesday, Lebanese leadership discussed preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in May next year, as well as for the conference to support the army and internal security forces, scheduled for March 5 in the French capital Paris. Additionally, possible plans for the period after the end of the UNIFIL mandate were considered. Meanwhile, Israeli escalation continued in its usual daily routine. Israeli forces blew up a house in the border town of Bleda and dropped sound bombs on the village of Ayta al-Shaab. However, the Lebanese army promptly deployed its forces in the area, while simultaneously detaining a Syrian on charges of dealing with Israel.
