Casualties Rise in Lebanon Amid Israeli Attacks

More than 2,700 people have died and at least 12,592 have been injured as a result of the attacks carried out by Israel in Lebanon over the past year. The escalation of clashes between Israel and the Lebanese Shia group Hezbollah has left a trail of destruction and tragedy in the region, according to official sources reported on Monday.

According to the Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 8, coinciding with the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip, these alarming figures have been recorded. Israeli attacks have concentrated in various areas of Lebanon, especially in the south, east, and southern suburbs of Beirut.

Among the fatalities are 532 women, 2,051 men, and 157 minors, showing the brutality of the violence unleashed in the region. Additionally, 1,129 boys and girls have been injured to varying degrees, highlighting the devastating impact of the attacks on the most vulnerable population.

The Ministry of Public Health has reported that 168 healthcare workers have lost their lives and 232 have been injured in the past year, while medical facilities have not been spared from the attacks, with 239 ambulances, 79 outpatient centers, and 38 hospitals damaged.

On the other hand, the number of displaced people due to this situation exceeds 1.2 million, but only a small proportion of them have found refuge in the reception centers set up by the Lebanese government, many of which are overcrowded. The humanitarian crisis in Lebanon continues to worsen, leaving a bleak outlook for the affected population.
