On Sunday, the family joined other relatives in the coastal city of Tyre in the south to retrieve the bodies wrapped in green cloth. Seven-year-old Alain Saeed was wrapped in bandages stained with blood after miraculously surviving an Israeli airstrike on her home in southern Lebanon last week. Alain and her family had returned to their hometown amid growing hopes that the ceasefire would cover the entire region, but a new airstrike claimed the life of her infant sister and several relatives. The attack on the Saeed family's home in the town of Sarafand occurred on Wednesday, the first day of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which many in Lebanon had hoped would also include their country. One of the bodies was much smaller than the others — it was the body of her granddaughter Talleen, Alain's sister. Talleen had not yet reached her second birthday. Grief was etched on the face of the grandfather, 64-year-old Naser Saeed, who also survived. Bandages covered his head and right hand, and scratches on his face were clearly visible. Cries of women expressing their shock and pain rose around him. 'We came out to the world (the people), but the Israeli airstrikes, instead, resulted in the killing of more than 350 people across Lebanon, including four others from the Saeed family,' said Naser Saeed. 'They said a ceasefire had been put in place.'
