Lebanon Requests Cancellation of Flights from Iran

The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced that Lebanon has requested the cancellation of all incoming flights. This decision may impact travel and air traffic between the two countries.

Yesterday, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced that the Lebanese side requested the cancellation of all incoming flights. "We received a letter from the Lebanese side, in which they requested to suspend all flights between Lebanon and Iran," the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization reported. The reason for the request to cancel flights was the growing insecurity due to the coronavirus pandemic. Iran has been seriously affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, and Lebanon, evidently, is trying to take precautionary measures to protect its citizens from the potential threat of infection spread. As of now, it is not reported whether there will be a ban on flights between the two countries temporarily or if it will have a more prolonged nature.
